2007 WSOP League Championship

At the beginning of the tournament, a cute little 3-year-old girl began chanting, "Uncle Jeff, Uncle Jeff!" Her cheers were persistent and loud enough for everyone to hear. Who was this guy uncle Jeff? Everyone wanted to know. Finally "Uncle Jeff" was pointed out and I made the remark to him, "Now you're going to win it all!" And sure enough, he did. Talk about a good luck charm.

Jeff Schulz from the Alamo Bar in North Platte had a heckuva run to make it to the final table where he dominated the rest of the table on his way to claiming the Nebraska Poker League 2007 State Championship along with a package to Las Vegas to play in this summer's World Series of Poker. Vern Runyan from the American Legion in Columbus was the runner up and also received the same grand prize. Darren Hose from Legends Bar & Grill in Lincoln took 3rd place.
